| This online journal will serve as an up-to-date history of
my experiences in my acting activities. It should be updated
on a regular basis as long as I am pursuing projects. Advisory
Note: This is my personal (i.e. might not be professional)
page where anything may come out of my mouth. Sorry in advance
if I hurt anyone's feelings. |

| I'm back!! Spring Break wasn't all that good (Hi Seretta!).
Well, let's just say I had higher expectations this year (Hi
Lindsay!). Anyway, this weekend I did two more children's theatre
shows at the YMCA. These were the best I believe I have done.
It was probably due to a couple new actors we had that were
excellent. Ryan and Jen from SLU...great job! This weekend was
also the opening of "The Game of Their Lives". Two
years after I worked on it...it finally comes out. Boy, oh boy,
did the film suck. Not good at all. However, I did have a lot
of face time on camera so I am at least happy that I can be
seen. So, what does the Spring and Summer hold for me? Well,
I am traveling a bunch. Plans to go to Chicago, Miami, and Tampa
are already on the books. Looks like I will have to go back
to the poker table to raise some funds since that is the only
place I get to use my acting skills consistently. Oh, yeah the
new photos are coming soon. |

| Once a year...twice a year...it really doesn't matter. I might
only update the site when I have things going on. I did just
finish doing another children's theatre stint at the YMCA. This
time it was a two show deal. Unfortunately, due to the weather
conditions we only had 8 or so people in the audience for the
first of the two. The next show was much, much better. I am
gearing up to take more portfolio photos. Also, I am planning
another trip to Panama City Beach, Florida for Spring Break
this year. I know, I know, I already graduated college, so why
am I still going to Spring Break? Go there and find out! March
19 - 26th. |

| Well, maybe I will just post on here a few times a year. Actually,
I have not done much industry work lately. The Snow White project
went along fine. We only did one show at the YMCA. I worked
a day on the "Kisses & Swords" movie that my friend
Becky Huff is a lead in. I finished up an acting course at UMSL
this last semester. Oh, by the way, I am done with college now,
so I have a lot of free time on my hands. Basically, I have
been hitting the gym everyday and interviewing for a "real"
job. Also, I have been planning various trips to places like
the Ozarks, Cleveland, and Las Vegas. |

| It certainly is tough to keep up with this damn thing. I have
been really busy and have not had a chance to add anything to
the site. So, what is going on with me right now? Okay, first
the Valpak commercial we
shot last year went on the air last week and we recently had
the wrap party for it. Next, I am cast in another theatrical
performance at the West County YMCA. This one is called "Snow
White" and we will be performing it May 1st. Rehersals
will begin in 2 weeks. Also, I am heading down to Panama City,
FL for spring break. I had this trip planned for months now,
so I better have a good time. Also, I had to pass up a lead
in a mutiple date show called "Rope" because of this
trip, so that will add to the pressure to have a good time.
After I get a badass tan in Florida I will probably take some
more portfolio shots. Later. |

| Happy New Year!! Well, let's hope this year will be a good
one for me. It may have already considering I am doing a gig
this month. I am performing in "The Emperor's New Clothes"
on Jan. 24th at 11:00am. It is at the West County YMCA in Chesterfield
(right behind the mall). It is a childrens play and we are going
to have audience participation, so bring the kids. I will be
playing various roles in the production. I guess that's all
for now...I have to go remember my lines :) |

| It has been awhile since I have posted some info, so here
are a few updates. I missed out on two student films that
I auditioned for this past month. However, I did get picked
to work on a St. Louis made episodic drama called "Splice
Here". The whole selection process was weird considering
we are not going to work on it until like March 2004. I don't
know much about this, so I will hold off on releasing any
information about it. A few days ago I auditioned for a one
performance play at the West County YMCA. I should know in
a few days if I got the part. I would say that it is a 50/50
shot. The play is for little kids, so I think it would be
great to do.
On a separate note, I have found a lot of time to do some
musical writings that I enjoy playing. With that time, I have
also found enough personal content to fill these writings.
The past six weeks have been really intense and I hope that
I can channel some of that energy into something meaningful.
It is always neat to be able to take some of your life experiences
and tell a story through a song without it sounding contrived
or cheesy. Any other musical artists out there may know exactly
what I am talking about.
Anyway, happy holidays to anyone who might be reading this
prior to the holidays. So, where is the party at for New Year's
Eve? |

| It was a rainy day and I went to the auditions at Webster
for their pool of actors for some films they are doing. I went
with a friend and his cousin. The audition was different than
any of the other ones I went on. I got to do a two minute monologue
and some improvisation work. I could have and should have done
better, but I guess I always say that. I just try to put that
bar up so high, so that I can keep reaching for it and never
be satisfied with any sort of level I perform at. Although,
it could just be that subconsciously I want people to say, "Oh,
you did a great job Rob!", and give me a pat on the back.
Who knows? Who cares, really?! I will just keep practicing and
studying this interesting art. I was going to say that nothing
is in the pipeline, but I guess this is something. Callbacks
are next week, so we will know then. Ha, my birthday is next
week as well, so maybe I will get a present :) |

| Today, I worked on an educational video for teen drivers.
The only downside to the whole shoot is that everything was
changed at the last minute. We were given scripts to rehearse
(and memorize for some), but when it came down to doing it I
guess we ran out of time. So, all of the time that went into
writing the dialogue, preparing and rehearsing went out the
window. From a production standpoint their was a lot of wasted
time involved with this. Some people I talk with say, "Hey,
you still got paid!". True I agree, but as many other actors
out there know we do a lot of free stuff just to get the experience,
so cash money does not seem to be a driving force behind our
desires to act or act out. However, a lesson was learned. Be
professional, be prepared, but remember everything can get changed
at the last minute. This is a great example on why improvisation
work is done in acting classes and such. |

| Last Sunday I skipped the Rams game to be an extra in a commercial
for Val Pak. Some photos are posted here.
Basically, I just sat around for awhile pretending to eat pizza.
It is a small world though. I ran into at least three other
people that I worked with in the past that I did not know were
on this shoot. So, I would like to send a shout out to Becky
Huff, Brock Roberts, and Nathan Brown. |

| Well, I guess I did better than I thought on my screen test
for that educational video because I got a call this week saying
that I got a role in the video!! This is a huge and pleasant
surprise. A nice paying gig that will add to the ol' resume.
Also, I picked up an extra role in another commercial affiliated
with Jay Kelly. So, this month is going pretty well for me.
On a side note: I want to congratulate Nathan Brown for his
KFC winning commercial. Now don't spend that $10,000 all in
one place. Ha ha. |

| On Saturday I went to the ESPN Dream Job auditions at Lucky's
on the landing. They are holding a reality contest to search
for an individual to get a one year contract on SportsCenter.
Although I am not well versed on sports trivia, I went down
for the hell of it. We had to take a seven minute sports quiz.
I probably did bad on that. Then about 10 of us stood around
and started talking. Cardinal great Lou Brock sat in on our
discussion, so we all at least got to meet him. I liked my answers
to some of the group questions, but I do not think I will get
a call back for a one-on-one interview. |

| Okay, www.robmiley.com has been secured and this website is
now live. Hopefully, it will serve a useful function in regards
to my creative outlet: acting. One thought I would like to throw
out on the web is about a movie I saw this weekend called "Thirteen".
It is written by a thirteen year old girl about the wild life
(ie. having sex, doing drugs, disrespecting her mom, etc.) of
a thirteen year old. I must admit...the movie does make you
think about if kids this age really do this sort of stuff. I
know that they do. So, from that perspective it does tell an
accurate picture of this character's life. However, the movie
has holes in it. Clique jumping does not happen as fast, or
as smooth, as the movie portrays. Seductive dancing by the young
girls is out of place without meaning or music. Wild tantrums
seem to pop up out of nowhere without a clear cause. However,
if you want to see two good looking thirteen year old girls
french kissing for about 10 seconds then you may want to see
this movie. Is that borderline child porn or what??? |

| I am almost done creating this site. It actually took a lot
less effort to get it done than I thought. Usually I am struggling
to create content about what and how to say things on the web.
However, for some reason this has been a breeze. See...I can
keep rambling on like this and it does not matter. Ha Ha ha. |

| I went on an audition today for a feature film. First Time
director Matt McLaughlin is casting for a movie about people
working in a movie theater. The production is entitled "The
Diary of a Co-Worker". I thought the reading went well.
We will see though. |

| I went ahead and sat in as an extra on a student film. It
was Saturday and I had to get up really early, so I should get
some credit for that. Good luck to Rob Severson on his French
Film "Pour Chaque Non". |

| Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Well, I had a call
back today for an educational video. However, I messed up a
lot of the lines and stepped on a few marks. Hopefully, I will
be able to look back and learn from my mistakes on this one.
It is highly unlikely that I will get this part :( |

| |
| I just found out that a movie that I was cast in is being
postponed. Damn! This project was a feature film called "Mil
Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy". It was another Missouri
Film Commission affiliated project. The good news is that I
don't think it is canceled right now. It is just postponed. |

| We shot the Fitz's Root Beer commercial today at John Burroughs
High School. It was an all day shoot. The theme was baseball
players trying to get out of playing so they could sit on the
bench and drink soda. I thought the shoot went real well. On
a side note, the guys over at Rouse Productions, Nathan Brown,
Geoff Pilkington, and Joe Ackerman, were excellent to work with.
Very professional group of guys who have their act together.
I would recommend other people to look into this talented bunch
because I see potential amongst them. |

| Just for the hell of it. I went out to St. Albans country
club to hit a few balls to be evaluated for a role in "Stroke
of Genius". The wait was like 3 hours long. However, I
did not stay there the entire time. I only came back when I
thought my number was going to be called. One thing I can say
though is that the country club sure looked nice. I am used
to playing golf on ghetto-ass public courses. |
